    Everybody Hurts, sometimes.

For some friends that are hurting tonight: It's all going to be okay, trust in God and give it time. He'll do what is best, when it is best. For now sit tight and trust in Him. In the meantime focus on what is really important, get into the bible, read it and let God's work speak peace and love over you. Take the time you are given over this summer to love the ones around you that you have opportunity to love. Spend time with them, have fun with them, but remember ultimately true joy comes in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.

The coming time will likely be one of the biggest tests of your faith that you have yet seen. Take your comfort and joy from God and He will carry you through it all.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.

Paul's words here aren't a suggestion, they aren't some feel good meaningless words. Instead they are a command. The Holy Spirit speaking through Paul is commanding all believers to rejoice in the Lord always. And He wouldn't give that command unless He was prepared to be your help, and your cause, for rejoicing.

The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.

All verses taken from Phillipians 4, I suggest reading it and the rest of the book of Phillipians (it's a short one).

The video I referenced with the title in case anyone wants to hear it. It's a good song. (link)

Insight in 140 characters or less

If you were following me on twitter, here is some of the things you would have saw me say today. Or as I like to call it, my mini rant.

This first part started with me being put on hold when calling for support on a broken computer I was working on. I sat on hold for about 10 minutes to have the system start ringing, and then place me on hold. Shortly thereafter, about another 3 minutes, a real live person answered and asked if I would please hold.

"Your call is important to us, please continue to hold." If my call mattered to you you would answer quickly not tell me it is important.
Actions are more important than words. Actions speak the heart. Words are meaningless in comparison.
I was told that if you are going to apologize for something you change the action or you don't apologize as it makes your word worthless.
I can't hear the words you are saying because your actions are too loud.
Integrity = Words and actions/life speak the same message.

And just a few of the other things I tweeted today. Mostly ReTweets from Mark Driscoll and John Piper, along with a quick quote that came to my head and a quote from a song and one from a sermon. Enjoy.

If it's Christ we believe in we shouldn't be confused with the heathens. - LeCrae, "We don't" (Ephesians 3)
RT @PastorMark Once the Bible is less than God's Word Jesus becomes less than God & sinners become less than sinful. The Bible is highest authority.
RT @PastorMark: "Idolatry = Jesus exists to glorify me making me, healthy, rich, happy, successful etc. This worship of me is the issue"
"Idiot 51: The downfall of Western Civilization" sounds like a great book title for a book about how democracy will destroy itself. - Tom Nelson (the 51 he is referring to is if 51% of the voters in a democracy are idiots.)
    Pain brings wisdom. #quote
RT @JohnPiper: "If you can say, "I enjoy you so that you will cook supper," then you can say, "I worship God so that my job will prosper."

If after reading some of the randomness that I post please feel free to follow me on Twitter. Or at least say hi. Also, you could comment and leave your Twitter username.

  • I'm so stressed!

The level of anxiety in a teenager is higher today than in a psychiatric patient in the 1960s.*

    Why?
And how do we fix it?

    * - As per Max Lucado in an audioclip I heard today. No I don't generally listen to him, or even the station, but I heard it.
